A seeding plan must state target density, growth area, vessel count and the measured suspension concentration. Avoid tables that list “cells per well” without defining the vessel.
Seeding density and suspension volume
Total cells = target density × growth area per well × wells; suspension volume = total cells ÷ suspension concentration.
Where should growth area come from?
Use the manufacturer documentation for the exact vessel. Nominally similar plates, flasks, inserts or coated products may have different usable areas and recommended volumes.
